HARGROVE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS LAMAR UNIVERSITY

Beaumont, TX - The Hargrove Foundation, Hargrove Engineers & Constructor’s charitable arm, is dedicated to supporting causes in education. As part of this effort, they contribute scholarships to several colleges and universities across the country, including Beaumont’s own Lamar University.

Since 2020, the Hargrove Foundation has supported an annual $10,000 scholarship to Lamar University’s construction management students. With over 45 Lamar university graduates employed by Hargrove, they recognize the impact this has not only on individual pursuits for education, but STEM education and workforce development in the area. This is directly in line with the mission of the university, and their 100-year legacy of producing leaders for the region.

“We are proud to enrich the lives of these students by supporting their pursuit of degrees in construction management,” said Jeb Shell, Hargrove Foundation Scholarship Committee Chair. “Our Foundation aids many worthy causes, and with education being one of our primary sectors of focus, these scholarships are a huge piece of that effort.”

Lamar University is celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2023. Throughout the twentieth century, Lamar University has served Southeast Texas in a strategic, relevant, and sustainable way as an integral frontrunner in technology and energy education. Over the course of their rich history, the education they provide has become far more versatile, firmly grounded in the humanities and sciences, but with a continued emphasis on practical applications. The result provides a sharp advantage to their graduates as they develop skills for lifelong learning and prepare for future careers.

Home to more than 17,000 students, Lamar University is among the fastest growing Texas colleges and universities. LU is a member of The Texas State University System, which is the first higher education system of Texas and maintains the lowest average tuition and fees of any university system in Texas. With more than 100 degree options and a community that cares, Lamar students are always proud to be Cardinals.
